LATE RACE TANGLE KNOCKS LEGENDRE OUT OF PROMISING RUN
race of the season at the DRIVE4COPD 125 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday
Forty cars stepped up to the plate for qualifying on Thursday
afternoon. Legendre's qualifying run came from a one-lap time because scoring
equipment failed to report a second lap for many contenders. However, the #5
Roush Yates Impala was able to start 20th in the field for Saturday's race.
Legendre moved methodically through the field as far as the 10th
marker, closing in on a solid top ten finish when a late race tangle caused the
car to lose its momentum and slip back in the field. The 5 car was still able to
bring home a 15th place finish.
Steven and the #5 race team, led by his father Kendell Legendre,
hopes to receive the sponsorship needed to carry them through the season
including appearances at Richmond International Raceway, Iowa Speedway, Dover
International Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Road Atlanta and
Other plans are in the works to revisit the P.A.S.S. Oxford 250
and Beech Ridge 300.
Steven, who not only works behind the scenes at many races, is looking forward to getting back behind the wheel as much as possible this season.
